Project Overview
Redesign of the Goodreads mobile app focused on improving book discovery and reducing cognitive overload. The project simplifies navigation and content hierarchy to create a more intuitive reading experience.
Key Issues Identified
Overwhelming interface with dense information
Poor book discovery experience
Lack of clarity in navigation and hierarchy
Social features feel disconnected from core reading goals
Existing Screens
repetitive features
elements compete for attention, creating cognitive overload and making it difficult for users to focus on discovering a single book.
Creating shelves are placed low in the hierarchy, causing users to miss personalisation tools.
Multiple sections (Reading, Want to Read, Read, Tags) are stacked with minimal spacing, making the screen feel cluttered and difficult to scan.
